We have chosen not to include the dimension of Environmental Wellness in our DisabilityWellness model of wellness. That is because there usually is no lack of environmental wellness amongst persons affected by circumstances of disability. Most persons with circumstances of disability practice environmental wellness as a matter of course. In fact, we are sometimes referred to as the first recyclers because picking bottles and cans was not only the right thing to do, it was also the only thing that could be done to make a living. For some it meant survival. But then again, that often proves to be the case as many persons with circumstances of disability are still forced to practice environmental wellness inorder to financially survive.
